My first instinct was to use a traditional/classic font similar to that seen on propaganda and food packaging during the war period. This style is considered easier to read and is more suitable for large amounts of text.
After much deliberation, I decided to choose a font that had a more modern/contemporary feel as I thought that a traditional font may not be as appealing to children. I was drawn to simple handwritten style fonts with rounded shapes and child-friendly versions of letters that would also fit the handmade feel that I was hoping to achieve.
